Commode, Baroque style, r.1750

Commode was taken over by the customer due to its age in relatively good condition, if we look at the piece only as a whole and not missing a part of the ledge, feet or pieces of veneer. The entire body is sized by different veneers of precious woods such as walnut, poplar veneer burr, fruit trees (pear flamed), which are stacked in marquetry in a variety of geometric patterns and shapes of birds etc. The entire structure and marquetry are sized by the bone glue, which for years hasn't been fully function and therefore the joints and veneer are loose. After repairs structures it is necessary one by one to shelled individual parts stacked intarsia and after cleaning be glued back into place. Subsequently will eliminate old polish and prepare for a new polishing, sealing, toning and varnish base. Supreme work for the restorer begins. Polishing by shellac polishes is a long process that involves considerable skill and experience. The individual layers are applied to the polishing pore in the wood surface and this way is made a high gloss. After modifying the interiors commode is regaining its old appearance.
